Discussion with Reviewers Revjewer I: Why have you not used the following , easier 215way to calculate Umr? I) Determine the sphericity,¢, from geometric considerations; 2) calculate Em1 from Equation 6;and 3) directly solve equation for Um1 noting that t.P/L~(lE:mr)(pp-p)g and that one of the roots of the quad ratic is negative and therefore unrealistic. AY..!b.2.r§: Our method is an alternative to the one described above which assumes that the bed is compactly packed. However at Umr compactness is lost, as a result of this we believe our method to be more accurate. H. Arastoooour: The technique of ci rculating fluidized bedshas not been examined in great depth. A significant amountof work has also been done in fluid ized beds including jet, with or without draft tube.Authors: We have looked at the literature concerningci rculating fluidi sed beds and the use of jets in fluidizedbeds. It was felt that while these techniques have greatpo ten tial in chemical processing, they have limitedapplications in food processing industries.

متن کاملA Comprehensive Review of Membrane Distillation and Osmotic Distillation in Agro-Food Applications
Membrane distillation (MD) and osmotic distillation (OD) are emerging athermal processing techniques of great interest in agro-food production where the most part of products is sensitive to thermal treatments. With respect to conventional methods, MD and OD are competitive alternatives, able to work in an environmental-friendly and cost-efficient way, for preserving the nutritional and sensori...
متن کاملHigh Pressure Processing and its Application in Cheese Manufacturing: A Review
Nowadays, high standard level of living has led to an increase in demand for foods which are minimally processed via high sensory and nutritional quality and also an extended shelf life. High pressure processing (HPP) is one of the techniques that was considered for food preservation at the first application in food industry. Pressures in the range of 300 to 650MPa have been found to affect the...
متن کاملIntelligent Modeling of Permeate Flux during Membrane Clarification of Pomegranate Juice
Background and Objectives: One of the problems in juice membrane clarification is the accumulation and deposition of rejected compounds on membrane surfaces or inside its pores which results in a membrane fouling. Materials and Methods: Several parameters can have influence on fouling in one hand and prediction of juice permeates flux during the membrane processing is of importance in indust...
